Ambience: Wandering down cobbled streets amongst pretty tiled houses in the relaxing warmth makes you want to pack in your city job.

Architecture: Whether it’s the front of houses, churches or palaces, there are some stunning designs to be seen.

Markets: Observing the local old ladies here will put a smile on your face before you’ve even tried the delicious fresh fruit.

Music: Fado is known as the Portuguese soul and it’s very romantic to listen to on the riverfront, especially with a glass of red wine.

Pastries: They’re just so good.
